Organic Way
ORTOFFICINA AND BIODYNAMICS
They utilize a biodynamic method to grow their plants, shrubs and aromatic herbs at the Ortofficina farm on the hills of Bologna, Italy. These organic materials turn into the ultra-performing complexes of essential oils, extracts and hydrolates in their unique formulations. The biodynamic method is the purest and most effective type of cultivation that is free of pesticides, herbicides, insecticides and synthetic fertilizers used in conventional agriculture.
AGRICOSMETICS AND GREEN CHEMISTRY
Picked in their balsamic period, officinal herbs are distilled locally in a steam current and transformed into essential oils, hydrolates and extracts by traditional, natural methods - without the use of synthetic solvents. Organic and biodynamic raw materials are combined with carefully selected natural elements, like pure oils, waxes, butters, emollient plants, and the most sustainable active and functional ingredients. Harsh and toxic synthetic products are replaced by natural and more delicate alternatives. Ark Made is a women owned company based out of beautiful Santa Fe, New Mexico. It is a sister company of the ark bookstore, which has been Santa Fe’s metaphysical wonderland for nearly 40 years. For decades, people have come to The Ark in search for tools and community to help them on their spiritual journey.
In 2015, they started making products for The Ark. These sacred treasures were in such high demand that they decided to expand; and thus Ark Made was born.

Dr. Sarah’s Essentials
From Farm to Family
Dr. Sarah’s Essentials is a therapeutic skin care line that contains only high quality and non-toxic ingredients to promote health and healing.
Each product in the Dr. Sarah’s Essentials line was created by veterinarian, Dr. Sarah, in her lab where she has been joyfully formulating products to organically care for your animals since 2006.

Driftless Skincare
After being diagnosed with allergies to synthetic fragrances and to formaldehyde several years ago, Driftless Skincare’s founder began to look for skin care products that did not irritate her and her family’s skin. Those that they found had hidden allergens (preservatives can be hidden amongst other additives in skin care products) or would be very expensive. She decided that the easiest way to ensure that she would not have to worry about allergens would be to make the products herself.
Driftless Skincare has a firm commitment to using no synthetic fragrances or artificial colors, as well as limiting the amount of plastic used in their packaging. All products are free of parabens, sulfates, silicones, and formaldehyde (or formaldehyde releasing) ingredients.
Their ingredient lists are 100% transparent; nothing is hidden.
They use Optiphen (Phenoxyethanol Caprylyl (and) Glycol) as a preservative to ensure that products that contain water (lotions, creams and toner) or that are likely to be exposed to water (scrubs) remain safe to use. Products that do not contain water, like lotion bars, do not have a preservative added.
Soaps are Gluten and Palm Free, and nearly half are Vegan (as opposed to Goat’s Milk) soaps. Essential Oils are used to add scent to individual soaps, however, they do have a large collection of unscented soaps available as well.
Here is a bit more about Sara and Driftless Skincare, in her own words:
My name is Sara Kujak. I am a stay at home mother to 4 entertaining children. As I stated before, with my allergies, I found the need for products that were safe for me to use, but that wouldn’t break the bank. I also have a very short attention span and tend to go a bit overboard. Since there was no way for my family to consume the ridiculous amounts of products I was creating, I was gently nudged by my husband to start selling them.
My sister is Kris Hanson. She began making soaps at about the same time. Since she has the same personality tendencies, we decided to team up. I would sell her soaps for her, and she could keep playing with al the fun ingredients!
