The Essence of Mindfulness ~ Embracing Presence

Please Join Dr. Kendra Holzer, PhD, Licensed Psychologist

The Essence of Mindfulness is a two-part series. Each seminar will be held in-person (with masks) at the Greenhouse, on Monday March 14th and Monday March 28th, from 12-2pm.

My deeply held belief is that each of us has the innate capacity to thrive. Further, when we embrace the entirety of ourselves with acceptance and love, within the space of presence, we flourish in abundant and lasting ways. I have developed this series with the intent that you might begin a journey of authentic self-discovery, a radical act of compassion and kindness, in the hopes of touching your highest being.

Both seminars will be comprised of psychoeducation, processing, and experiential components, offering an opportunity for you to grow your foundation of knowledge about Mindfulness and also to actively experiment with alternative ways of relating to your inner experience and the conditions of your life. There will be an opportunity for personal reflection, connection with kindred spirits, and simply ‘being’ in a healing space, just breathing.

The first seminar will focus on exploring the nature of presence and attuning to mindfulness qualities that deepen steadiness in response to the currents of our lives. Additionally, the value of inner resourcing and establishing anchors for maintaining here and now awareness will be discussed. Lastly, considerations of how to weave informal as well as formal mindfulness methods and meditation into daily living will be emphasized.

The second seminar will address mindfulness philosophy as related to thoughts, feelings, and sensations, with conversation on how we inadvertently reinforce unhelpful patterns. We will additionally cover specific strategies that you may draw from in order to cultivate greater empowerment in response to each of these dimensions of self, thus opening a renewed awareness of how to use each facet of self as a source of strength and vibrancy.
